Late Night 2-Hour DTM Theme: A Song in Your Best Style
The illustration features a pink parakeet gazing up at a flower called Sasanaki.
Sakurazou (primroses) come in both Western varieties and the uniquely Japanese Nihon-sakurasou.
‘Sasanaki’ has soft white petals tinged with gentle pink.
I composed the piece using bansuri and piano, aiming to evoke a feeling of wabi-sabi.
I hope you’ll give it a listen if you’d like. 🌸

“Sasanaki” is said to refer to the soft call of a bush warbler in winter.
I’m curious about how this delicate flower came to be named that way. 🌸
