Tanabata Chick 🎋🐣

らくがき

Today is Tanabata, the Star Festival in Japan.
In this illustration, the little chick is hopping up and down, trying to get a closer look at the wish strips hanging from the bamboo branches.
It looks like they just can’t quite reach them… with those little wings—or maybe that tiny beak!
As adults, we don’t often get the chance to write wishes on tanzaku anymore, but I hope we always keep our wishes ready in our hearts.
I created this piece with piano and gentle synth pads to capture the feeling of a star-filled Tanabata night.
I hope you’ll enjoy listening. 🐥🌌

I have a feeling that a cockatiel’s wish would be about food… most of the time. 🐥
