Yukiwari-grass: Hepatica

らくがき

Flower You Series No. 15
The illustration features a pink parakeet watching over a Hepatica flower.

Hepatica (also known as Mitsuba-sou in Japanese) is one of the birth flowers for January 5th.
This flower, native to Japan, blooms in snowy regions.
It is known as a herald of spring because it blooms as if breaking through the snow in early spring.
The flower’s meanings include “I trust you” and “Expectation.”

I composed this piece with a violin and piano to capture the atmosphere of this flower blooming resiliently under the weight of snow.
Please listen to it if you’d like! 🌸

By the way, it’s said that gray makes pink shine the brightest. 👀
The calmness of gray supports the vibrancy of pink… Color combinations truly are fascinating, aren’t they?
