Daphne, one of the three great fragrant trees alongside osmanthus and gardenia, blooms in a gentle pink hue, announcing the arrival of spring.
I composed this piece with a bansuri and piano to capture the essence of early spring’s fragrance.

Daphne trees have a short lifespan of about 20 to 30 years, so they are no longer commonly planted in gardens. It makes me reflect on the concept of lifespan in the plant world
