May 16th is said to be Travel Day, inspired by Oku no Hosomichi (The Narrow Road to the Deep North).
The illustration features cockatiels on a journey, wearing straw hats (sando-gasa) that don’t quite fit.

I created the music using ryuteki (a traditional Japanese flute) and piano to evoke the sound of waterfalls.
