Minor Cold

This time of year marks Minor Cold, one of the 24 seasonal terms.
It’s said to be the time when the cold really begins to deepen.
The illustration shows a little chick noticing the first sparse flakes of snow.
It was quite cold today, so even places that don’t usually see snow may have caught a glimpse of it.
Using a music box called Speldosa,
I tried to capture the image of snow quietly starting to fall
and the sharp chill settling into the air.
