Good Carrot Day

January 12th is celebrated as Good Carrot Day in Japan, based on a wordplay with the date.
The illustration shows Okame-san striking a pose with a carrot in hand.
“Nice, looks like we got a really good carrot☆”
Apparently, this day is actually more about ginseng rather than ordinary carrots.
I made this little piece with mallets and a recorder, giving it a lively, bustling carrot-like mood.
